Community Center

Who can use the community center?

The Community Center is available for use by all.  Preference will be given in the following order:

1. Members of the Pleasant Valley Community Association

2. Residents of the Two Rivers/Pleasant Valley community

3. Residents of the State of Alaska

4. Others

Rental Fees:

1/2-Day Use (Up to 4 hours) = $50.00

Full-Day Use (4+ hours) = $100.00

Security Deposit = $250.00  (The security deposit must accompany the rental fee in order to secure the date for your event.  The security fee will be held until after your event.  Once the building passes inspection (cleanliness/damage), your deposit will be refunded to you in full.  Any needed cleaning/repair costs will be deducted if the building doesn’t pass inspection.  If you have questions about this policy, please ask us before you schedule your event.)

Terms and Conditions

All fees must be received at least one (1) business day prior to your event. Fees may be paid via credit card, debit card, cash, or check. (Be advised that if you make payment via check, the check will be cashed and must clear prior to your event.) The security deposit will be held until after your event. If the building is left in a clean and undamaged condition, you will receive a full refund. Costs for cleaning/repairs will be deducted from your deposit and the remaining balance (if any) will be refunded to you. Refunds are generally processed within 5 business days following your event.

The rules for alcohol are simple. Our insurance carrier will not cover any incident related to alcohol. So, if your organization sells/serves alcohol during your event, you must provide us with a copy of your organization’s insurance policy showing you have a rider for your alcohol-related event. If you host a BYOB event, no rider is necessary. However, you are responsible for any damages caused by an alcohol-related incident. The initial charges would come out of the $250 security deposit. But, there might be even further charges based on the severity of the incident.

SPECIAL NOTICE: You may hang decorations (i.e. balloons, streamers, posters, etc.). However, you MAY NOT use nails, staples, or pushpins to hang the decorations. (We recommend using blue painter’s tape or 3M Command Strips.) Use of nails, staples, or pushpins will result in forfeiture of your security deposit.

EXTRA SPECIAL NOTICE: Please do not slide a stack of chairs across the room when setting up or tearing down for your event. Doing so puts deep gouges in the wax on the floor. As a result, we have to strip and re-wax the floor. The cost of doing so is not cheap will come out of your security deposit.

Making Your Reservation:

Once you’ve confirmed that the community center is available on the date and time you want to use it, submit your request for a reservation using the form below.  We will contact you as soon as possible to finalize the details and schedule your event.  (The rental fee and security deposit must be paid before we will lock in your date/time.)
